And just like every year, Buick Open organizers are hoping he will compete in their event at Warwick Hills Golf & Country Club June 23-29.
"He likes the course, he plays well here. We have a great relationship and partnership with him. We're very hopeful," Larry Peck, Buick golf marketing manager, said Tuesday at a Buick Open luncheon at Warwick Hills.
"He doesn't typically announce where he's playing until a week before. Hopefully we'll have more news on Media Day (May 19).''
This will be the 50th Buick Open, and Woods is well aware of that fact.
"He's actually been part of the planning. We've had some conversations about some of the activities we're planning,'' Peck said.
Woods has played in the Buick Open five of the last six years and eight times total. He's won it twice (2002, 2006) and has seven top-10 finishes in eight tries. The eighth time he finished 11th.
Buick is one of Tiger Woods' sponsors and he usually plays in Buick-sponsored tournaments. Earlier this year he won the Buick Invitational at Torrey Pines near San Diego, site of this year's U.S. Open.
Last year he didn't participate because his wife had given birth to their daughter Sam Alexis the previous week.
Woods, No. 1 in the world, won seven worldwide tournaments in succession over the last two seaons before finishing two shots behind winner Geoff Ogilvy at the WGC-CA Championship on March 24.
